A new chief executive officer will be appointed by Porsche, and the Germans are in discussions with the former head of McLaren.

In the near future, Porsche may have a new CEO take over the company. In the present moment, negotiations are taking place with the German label over Michael Leiters, who has the potential to follow Oliver Blume. Leiters worked as the CEO of McLaren in the past.

Porsche is about to get a new CEO after Oliver Blume has been the chief executive of the company for a decade. Despite the rather dire situation the German company is facing right now, rumors have been floating around that Porsche has been negotiating with a potential successor to Blume.

He may be Michael Leiters, the former head of McLaren. According to the German media, around the turn of the year, Oliver Blume, the chief executive officer of the parent company Porsche, the Volkswagen Group, will step down. This will allow him the capacity to focus on his leadership position.

A statement by the car company said, “Negotiations with Dr. Leiters will be initiated,” but no other details were given.

The career of Oliver Blume: Oliver Blume has been the CEO of Porsche and Volkswagen Group since 2022. He has held both of these posts simultaneously. The stock of Volkswagen Group has greatly fallen by more than a third over this period of time, and the stock of Porsche’s selection has also significantly decreased by more than a third from its prior level. Both of these decreases are considerable. As a result of sales that are lower than what was anticipated, Porsche is currently in the midst of a market catastrophe for electric cars. This is due to the fact that sales fall short of what was projected.

Over the course of the preceding year, the German automobile manufacturer altered its approach to the electrification of their vehicles. The manufacturing of electric vehicles that are powered by internal combustion engines will continue for a longer period of time as a direct result of this development.

Following the introduction of a special McLaren 600LT earlier this year, McLaren Australia has also announced that its hardcore division MSO would create another Stealth edition, this time on the much more impressive 720S.

McLaren Special Operations also announced that the 720S Stealth edition would be limited to a handful of units, with prices to start at $489,900. However, prices can go much higher with the plethora of customization levels MSO is offering.

These customizations are available both on the outside as well as inside, while the engine remains intact. This means that the McLaren 720S Stealth edition will still pack the standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, developing 530kW and 770 Nm of torque. Also paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive setup, the power and torque enable a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a staggering 2.9 seconds, at a top speed of 341 km/h.

Speaking of visual customizations, customers will be able to choose between different paintjobs. One of the most evident and eye-catching is the Sarthe Grey colour with Vermillion Red accents, which was inspired by the F1 GTR, the famous McLaren super racer that won the 1995 Le Mans race taking place at Circuit de la Sarthe.

The specialists from MSO are also offering red accents on the front end, bonnet and on the sides, and gradually moving towards the rear deck. The same red is applied on the ten-spoke super-lightweight alloys, finished in Satin Black.

Colours aside, the McLaren 720S Stealth edition is also customized with carbon fiber parts finished in satin, and found on the front air intakes, side mirrors, rear wing and aero bridges. Inside, the cabin is also treated with carbon fiber on the center panel and switchgear, adding as well Alcantara trim and other stitching. And of course, depending on budget, you can add other cool accessories inside that enhance the cabin`s sporty feel.

McLaren supercar manufacturer has finally outdone itself once it introduced the Speedtail, which emphasizes the company`s efforts to create the perfect supercar ever built. And just by taking a quick look at it, we incline to believe so. It will become available starting with 2020.

The design and its aerodynamics exceed expectations; it is a car out of worldy dimension, with an engaging personality and impressive performance under the hood. It is also so rare, that only 106 will ever be built; in fact, they`re all sold out for at least £1,75 million a piece. However, add up SVO`s own personal customizations and we are looking at more than £2 million.

Everything about the supercar is special, from the aerodynamics to the tiniest mechanical bits that increase its drag and make it the fastest road car in the world, way too fast than the McLaren`s iconic F1. And it all starts at the exterior, where one can see the low-slung design with the long tail and “teardrop-style cabin area.”

About the car`s advanced aerodynamics, Rob Melville, Design Director at McLaren Automotive, better explains the whole deal:

“The McLaren Speedtail is a vehicle unlike any other, not simply because of the astonishing visual drama, extreme speed and aerodynamic excellence that distinguish it, but because it sets unprecedented standard in technical luxury and bespoke customization. The same boundless innovation and creativity that drives McLaren to push the limits of physical performance have challenged us to craft an exquisite interior defined by pioneering design and the absolute pinnacle of materials quality.”

Described as “breathtaking sophisticated,” the supercar`s modern design uses the latest digital technologies, which bring forward a series of modifications that make it the fastest in the world. This means maximized aerodynamic efficiency and reduced drag, utilizing at the same time Low-Temperature Radiators that sends the airflow over the bonnet and into the upper air intakes to increase power. Furthermore, the same airflow is then sent around the wheel arches and eventually in the lower door vents.

Power comes from a petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain, enabling a staggering 1050 PS; and for a supercar that weighs just 1,430 kg, this is really fantastic. From standstill to 300 km/h, the McLaren Speedtail in a mind-blowing 12.8 seconds, at a top speed of 403 km/h. This is way too impressive than the 16.5-second run that used to make the P1 the king of the roads, at a top speed of 391 km/h.

The new supercar based on the iconic 570S, the McLaren 600LT, has just been announced in Sydney, Australia, during a special event which celebrated the best road-legal supercars in the world.

About the car`s track performance, increased aerodynamics and weight reduction, Georgie Biggs, McLaren Automotive Asia Pacific director, has declared that the company is thrilled to ‘’welcome the eagerly anticipated 600LT to Australia.”

He further stated that “The LT redefines expectations of super-sportscar performance and pays homage to McLaren’s rich racing history. To date, we’ve already received an incredible amount of interest from the Australian market and I am looking forward to seeing it on Australian roads.””

This makes the new McLaren 600LT the high-end version in the Sports Series range, coming with new aerodynamics and high-performance mechanics which improve performance on the road and track as well. (Mind that this is also a track-ready supercar with road-legal characteristics).

The new McLaren 600LT (with the LT coming from ‘’long tail’’) is longer than the 570S with around 74mm, coming as well with extended front splitter and rear diffuser, along with much wider rear wing, front and rear bumper bars, all increasing the supercar`s aerodynamics.

The supercar`s performance characteristics are also given by the plethora of carbon fiber components, which shed off considerable weight. For instance, the cabin now sports carbon fiber full buckets seats which replace the standard adjustable seats. The seats alone shed off around 30 kg, with an overall reduction of 100 kg.

Besides the advanced aerodynamics and carbon fiber structure, the McLaren 600LT is also a track-focused supercar, and barely-legal as the manager liked to call it. This means tremendous power – 442 kW and 620 Nm of torque, achieved via a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with bespoke twin top-exit system that has less pressure at the back.

With all these performance characteristics, the new supercar is capable of reaching 100 km/h in a staggering 2.0 seconds, while the 0 to 200 km/h sprint is done in just 8.2 seconds. And that, at a top speed of 328 km/h.

The whole deal comes with a hefty price. In Australia, this price is set at $455,000, without the on-road expenses.

McLaren`s hardcore division MSO, which deals with exclusive customizations on different supercars within the lineup, has created a special and unique 675LT wearing the spectacular Gulf-Davidoff racing livery, a tribute paid to the F1 GTR racer from 1997.

To create such an astounding model, the program required permission from Gulf Oil International Ltd. Once done than, the technicians from MSO spent more than 800 hours to create the special paintjob alone, and another couple of hundred more to carry out the rest of the project. The end result can be admired in the media gallery below.

About this daring project, Ansar Ali, MSO director, has also stated:

“Creating a car like this unique McLaren 675LT, crafted to individual customer specification, is exactly the type of demanding commission that MSO Bespoke was formed to embrace. Transforming the existing car from its original single colour paintwork to a tribute to the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ in Gulf Racing livery was incredibly demanding in its own right, but was only part of the brief; we also replaced numerous standard 675LT components with MSO parts and further personalised the car to clearly identify it with its owner, a service that an increasing number of MSO customers request.”

Besides the gorgeous livery, MSO specialists have also added custom-built 20-inch alloy wheels finished in Dayglo Orange, a colour which is also found on the sill badges, along with carbon fiber airbrake, roof scoop, louvered front wings and the owner`s initials on the same sill badges.

Inside, the interior has also been customized with cool stuff and gizmos, along with high-end materials. We are dealing here with the special Carbon Black Alcantara MSO Bespoke racing seats, orange seat belts, blue contrast stitching, the same owner`s initials on the headrests, Gulf Orange stop/start button, vent bezel surrounds or Gulf Blue bezels on the Active Dynamics Panel.

As for performance under the hood, the model in question stays faithful to its stock yet powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 497 kW and 700 Nm of torque, enough to enable a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, at a top speed of 330 km/h.

The Geneva Motor Show provides the opportunity for the world’s auto manufacturers to strut their stuff in one of the most anticipated events on the automotive calendar. This year, there was the usual variety, and most manufacturers had a strong emphasis on showcasing their latest practical and forward thinking EVs to meet the demand of the approaching electric revolution.

But deep down, we all go to a motor show to be wowed by something fast, powerful and spectacular, and laudable though the likes of the all electric concept cars from the likes of Peugeot might be, they do not get our pulses racing. Fortunately, there was also plenty on display in the fantasy “what would I buy if I won a million dollars at an online casino or playing the lottery” department too. Here are five of the very best.

Bugatti Chiron

The Chiron has received a few tweaks for 2018, mostly focused around its suspension. It’s been given stiffer dampers and heavier steering, making it even more of a monster on track days. Bugatti has also shaved a little weight off its flagship model. The result? The world’s fastest and most expensive car in the world, just got even faster – and even more expensive.

Top speed is reported to be 288mph, and it will hit 60 inside 2.5 seconds. As for the cost – perhaps it’s better not to think about that, and just admire those beautiful sculpted lines, but if you must know, the price tag is $2.6 million. And there is a waiting list.

McLaren Senna

To name a car after probably the most iconic and revered name in Formula One is either incredibly brave or incredibly dangerous – perhaps both. But McLaren are right on the money with this million dollar, 800 hp hypercar. The carbon fiber bodywork generates phenomenal downforce, meaning this car sticks to the road and corners at ridiculous speeds.

The limited production run has already sold out, but if you have a little extra to spend, the Senna GTR is a track special that is even faster, bolder and brasher.

Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro

The Aston Martin Valkyrie’s provenance is there for all to see. Developed in partnership with Adrian Newey and the Formula One boys at Red Bull Racing, it looks like something more appropriate for the track than the road. The AMR Pro on display at Geneva was exactly that, a track-based special, designed without the constraints of the public highway to consider.

The statistics speak for themselves. 1,100 hp, and an ability to generate lateral acceleration of 3G, mean you need the physique, as well as the bank balance, of Lewis Hamilton to drive one. Just 25 have been commissioned, and all have already got owners waiting.

Zenvo TSR-S

In the modern age, it is great that there is still a place for bespoke luxury carmakers. Zenvo is a fully independent outfit based in Denmark, and their TSR is the third model to roll off the production line. Motor shows are all about showcasing innovation, and that’s one thing this car has in spades.

The V8 engine is of the company’s own design and manufacture, while the centripetal rear wing has to be seen to be believed. It rotates to help the car corner more effectively and can even act as an air brake to slow the car down more effectively. Behind the wheel, it feels more like a Formula One car than anything else, with a seven gear, paddle shift gearbox as standard, that comes with what the manufacturer describes as a: “brutal mechanical direct power-shift race set-up that delivers a genuine race car experience on the track.”

If you love speed, there’s no greater sport in the world than Formula One. And there has been real intrigue going on behind the scenes ahead of 2018 season, with some interesting changes under the hood of these supercars. Below we’ll look at 6 of the most interesting cars to keep an eye out for in 2018.

Ferrari SF-71H

Remarkably, it’s been a full decade since Ferrari last won the Constructors’ Championship in F1, and the Italian motor giants are determined to put an end to that surprisingly long drought.
Kimi Raikkönnen was the champion driver when Ferrari last had success in 2007, and he still remains a key part of the team, although Sebastian Vettel is the star attraction and team’s greatest hope for success.

While the 2017 SF70H model was fast, it was unreliable. And that is something Ferrari have worked on with the SF-71H, which should be a much more reliable vehicle. The new car also features an aero lip around the halo, as well as heavily revised sidepods.

McLaren MCL33

The most eye-catching thing about the new McLaren MCL33 is its bold orange colour scheme, which has been inspired by their inaugural F1 season.
Intriguingly, McLaren have taken the decision to use Renault engines for the first time, following a disappointing period using Honda, which resulted in three disappointing seasons that saw not a single podium finish for the mighty constructor.

Mercedes W09

Unsurprisingly, this year’s Drivers’ Championship favourite at William Hill is none other than Lewis Hamilton, having won three of the last four championships, including a very comfortable 46-point winning margin in 2017.

Mercedes have cruised to the Constructors’ Championship for four consecutive years now, and they could draw level with Ferrari’s record of five back-to-back titles if they do so again this year. Unsurprisingly, not a great deal has changed for the W09, and Mercedes have noted that its tyres still have a tendency to overheat – similarly to its predecessor’s.

Red Bull RB14

Red Bull flirted with success in 2017, securing a few first-place finishes under Daniel Ricciardo and the hot prospect Max Verstappen. A temperamental Renault engine prevented them from sustaining a challenge, but if the team is to be believed, these problems have been ironed out. If this is true, you can expect Red Bull to push Ferrari and Mercedes to the limit this year.

Renault RS18

It will be intriguing to see how the Renault RS18 fares in 2018, considering it provides the exact same power units to the McLaren and Red Bull teams.
Renault are confident the team – still in its infancy after buying Lotus three years ago – can make a significant step-up this year.

Toro Rosso STR13

McLaren may have tossed aside Honda as its engine provider, but Toro Rosso have been willing to help the manufacturer rebuild their reputation, following a strong seventh-place finish in the 2017 Constructors’ Championship.

Indeed, they also boast the most inexperienced driving team on the grid too, so 2018 looks set to be a big gamble for Toro Rosso. Could it pay off?

Officially unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in a big round of applauses, the ultimate Super Series sports cars, the all-new 2018 McLaren 720S, is gearing up for its world debut, the model already arriving in its main dealerships across the United States.

First arriving at the McLaren`s most important showroom in Newport Beach, the model has also been seen parked at Cars and Coffee San Clemente, with the model also been highlighted in an exclusive video, presented in a premiere by Automotorblog magazine.

As you already know, the all-new 2018 McLaren 720S is the official replacement of the McLaren 650S, the supercar standing on a new carbon fiber platform which makes it extremely fast and high-performance.

The supercar is 18 kg lighter than the 650S and is extremely durable thanks to the heavy dosage of carbon fiber composites.

Mechanically, it has been also enhanced with new suspension and power-assisted electro-hydraulic steering wheel which improves its stance and delivers better grip.

As for the powertrain under the hood, the 2018 McLaren 720S packs a new 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, with 720 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque, delivered at a maximum torque of 5,500 rpm. You may not be blown away by the power configuration, but given its extremely rigid and lightweight structure, it comes with mind-blowing acceleration.

This means that it can run to 100 km/h in a whopping 2.9 seconds, while the quarter mile is done in just 7.8 seconds, and all that at a top speed of 341 km/h. you can find out more about the new 720S in the video below!

McLaren officially unveiled the all-new 720S at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show a couple of days back, the supercar now being available with its online configurator, offering you the chance of choosing between the plethora of styling tweaks available for sale.

Amongst the plethora of features available, the company is offering a carbon-fiber configuration for the supercar, which is called Monocage II. The new structure makes the model extremely lightweight, meaning a total of 1,283 kg.

Other important highlights at the exterior are the thinner and more aggressive rear LEDs and brake calipers with ceramic discs, which will definitely be of help whenever heavy breaking would be needed in tight corners.

This automatically means that, besides its advanced aerodynamics, the supercar also comes with plenty of new mechanics which channel the air into the engine via some improved tweaks, without taking into account the side air intakes.

As for the car`s interior, there are plenty of features to be offered as standard, such as carbon fiver racing seats and other sports elements, adding as well a suite if carbon-fiber trim packages and new exterior colours, bespoke exhaust system and so on.

Under the hood, the McLaren 720S packs a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with impressive 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, available at 8,500 rpm, enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The 0 to 200 km/h is also done in a mind-blowing 10.3 seconds. The top speed is also set at 212 mph.
