MGS5 EV & MGS6 EV – Two all‑electric compact SUVs that have immediately become fan favorites, proving that MG can meet the growing demand for zero‑emission mobility without compromising on style.

MG IM – A next‑generation technology suite now live in the UK, Norway, and Switzerland. With cutting‑edge infotainment, seamless connectivity, and advanced driver‑assist features, it raises the bar for “smart” on‑road experiences.

New UK Parts Warehouse – A dedicated facility that streamlines service and inventory, ensuring that customers receive quicker repairs and a smoother ownership journey.

Hybrid Success: The New Core of MG’s Strategy

The fact that the number of hybrid units sold in 2024 will rise to 45,000, whereas in 2025 the number will rise to 137,000, which is an astronomical 300 percent, clearly demonstrates the change in consumer preference towards flex-fuel solutions. Hybrid technology is less carbon intensive, and nevertheless, it provides the familiar experience of combustion engines that will attract the interests of the wide audience, making MG offer both a sustainable and affordable option.

ZS Series Keeps Winning

The brand has been selling the MG ZS which is a compact SUV as its flagship car. The fact that it has grown its sales to 123000 units by 32 percent is the confirmation of the fact that its prices, bold design, and functional interior space are still attractive to families and young professionals.

Expanding Footprint

Spanning 34 countries and having more than 1,300 retail partners, MG has expanded its operations far beyond the UK. That is because the global network will mean you can be in a large city or small town, but within reach of an MG dealership.

Looking Forward

The strength that is generated throughout 2025 portends a bright future. The further investment in EV and hybrid platforms along with the growing international presence of SAIC imply that MG is on the brink of:

Expand EV presence in Europe, exploiting more restrictive emissions policies and tax credits.

Enhance its hybrid portfolio and act as an interim to markets that are slow to become fully electrified.

Develop better after-sales support by increasing the parts facilities and dealer training.

Overall, the performance of MG in 2025: more than 300,000 vehicles sold in Europe, a 300 percentage point surge in hybrids, and an expanding retail network. This is a successful example of how heritage, innovation, and strategic implementation can come together to drive a company to rapid growth in a highly competitive environment.

With the former MG Cars now becoming MG Motor and owned by SAIC Motor, the UK-based company has started building models destined for different markets like Australia. In the Land Down Under, the carmaker announced the introduction of an affordable SUV in the shape of the ZS, considered the best contender against the Mazda CX-3.

Speaking of the SUV`s introduction in Australia and affordable price, Peter Cao, general manager of SAIC Australia, has also declared:

“We are proud to bring an attractive yet affordable compact-SUV to Australians, with a host of safety and technology features we know the market has come to expect. In the last year, we have listened to the feedback of the Australian market and our seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty with roadside assistance is yet another effort made by MG Motor Australia to ensure our customers can be assured they are getting the best value for their money.”

On the local market, the MG ZS can be had in two variants – MG ZS 1.5 Soul which costs $20,990 and MG ZS 1.0T Essence also available at $23,990. Each one comes with its own features and characteristics.

Starting with the GM ZS Soul, this particular variant features 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-inch touchscreen media interface with Apple CarPlay functionality, Yamaha 3D sound system or rearview camera with parking sensors.

In the engine department, the Soul variant kicks off with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a good 84 kW and 150 Nm of torque.

Moving to the Essence, this edition is equipped with more features like ”Stargazer” panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and a suite of safety gizmos. In the engine department, the Essence comes with a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine good for 82 kW and 160 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Both variants come with plenty of space inside and a cargo boot at the back of 359 liters. The overall boot can be expanded to a total of 1,166 liters with the rear seats floded down.

Skoda is not the only one to preview the upcoming Kodiaq SUV by launching the Skoda VisionC Concept in first teasers, as MG has also released the first sketch with the all-new GS SUV in Europe.

According to rumors, the MG GS SUV will be unveiled at the London Motor Show, taking place this May, the model being expected to look like the Chinese GS model, which was revealed at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show.

The event would be quite special for the British-based MG carmaker, the upcoming GS SUV being expected to produce quite a stir on the SUV market. Anthony Williams-Kenny, global design director, also praised the expected model:

“The world is changing quickly in terms of what we expect from a product, so our goal is to bring the most up-to-date design trends to our own. With MG’s first SUV, we wanted to design a car that would fit in with the MG family and have a slightly different look, of confidence and dynamism, that sets it apart from the other models.”

There is not much we can depict from the teaser image, except for the SUV`s angular and sporty lines. Under the hood, chances are that the GS SUV might receive the same engines from its Chinese sibling, meaning a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit, with 250 Nm of torque, or the higher 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, with 350 Nm of torque.

Three years ago, MG unveiled a concept car at the Beijing Auto Show going by the name of MG Zero. Today, they have shown us the production version of that concept.

Set to hit the markets in Europe later this year, the MG Zero, renamed MG3 is not a far cry from the concept. Most of the design elements are still there, one the biggest changes being the loss of the LED headlights.

MG3

Built in Birmingham, the MG3 supermini will only be available as a five door vehicle. As far as the engine goes, there is only one choice too. That is a 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 105 Hp. The power will be delivered to the wheels thanks to a five speed manual gear box.

MG3

For the interior, MG’s supermini will give you the option of three trim levels: TS1, TS2 and TS3. We are not sure what each package contains, but until it goes on sale, we are sure to catch that information. An estimated price for the MG3 is around 15.200 USD for a base model. Considering all these, will be able to compete against MINI, Citroen DS3 or opel Adam?

On the internet you can find something about anything. The sheer amount of information that is included in this single concept is hard to comprehend.

So it surprises no one when the most recent news make their way to the web almost immediately. This is the case with MG’s new SUV concept car, the MG CS.

MG CS Concept

With a possible official launch later this month at the Shanghai Auto Show, the leaked photos portray a very interesting vehicle. One can’t help but notice a few similarities to a concept presented last year, the Icon, but this is clearly an evolution in styling.

MG CS Concept

It is purely speculative at this moment, but the new MG CS concept might be using a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine with turbocharging and able to produce 135 Hp. But until the Shanghai Auto Show and an official welcome into the world for the SUV, all we can do is hope the internet will provide more.

So until more information surfaces, let us gawk at the pictures provided and silently judge this concept.

MG used to be a great car maker a very long time ago. They used to be a mediocre one a not so long time ago and up until last year they even used to not be.

Since the Chinese have bought the MG brand, factory, so on and so forth, the recently introduced MG MG6 the situation is starting to pickup the pace.

MG returns to BTCC

That pace is soon going to start into running as the <del datetime="2012-01-25T19:48:26+00:00">British</del> Chinese car maker will participate in the British Touring Car Championship.

They will be entering a souped up version of their only car, the MG MG6 GT and they’ve even gone through the trouble of setting up a proper team.

It’s called the MG KX Momentum Racing team and their MG6 GT entry will be prepped by the specialists at Triple Eight Race Engineering.

MG returns to BTCC

If you don’t know who they are, it’s no surprise but you should know they have quite the resume. Along side currently prepping the Vauxhall racers as well, Triple Eight have more than 100 race wins in the BTCC.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that MG means business when entering the touring car championship. You’d be sure of it once you find out what drivers they will have lined up for the event.

The star racer will be double BTCC champion Jason Plato and he’ll be backed by Andy Neate. Plato showed the Brits what the Chevy Cruze can do and Neate used to drive for Team Aon.

Though slightly unsure of the plan and ambition of what MG plans to do in BTCC, it seems like their entry will be worth watching for.

Here’s something unexpected, one of the dead British car manufacturers we haven’t heard of in quite some time is now sending a new model into production.

MG MG6

The Manufacturer is MG, the car is simply named the MG6 and the production will take place on homeland, at a facility in Birmingham.

I was thinking that if I was ever to talk about an MG product it would be about some auction or owner club gather but it seems I was proven wrong.

The first 2011 MG6 is scheduled to pop outside the factory door on April 13 at 11:00 am. Precision is one thing, but this sort of scale operation seems amazing given the fact that MG’s last new model was the F Roadster, a car which was launched in 1995.

MG MG6

The money and probably a lot of the work behind the MG6, is credited on behalf of China’s Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) group.

SAIC say that MG will first release this “fastback” version of the MG6 and later in the summer production should start on a sedan version of this same car.

While the car looks pretty good and is priced between 15.500 quid and all the way up to a fiver under 19.000 you won’t get a choice of engines.

MG MG6

The only powerplant available is a 1.8 liter turbo four pot gasoline engine that puts 160 horsepower at your disposal and also comes with a great torque band of 215Nm between 1750 and 4500 rpm.

An truly rare 1964 MGB which is said to be the last known genuine MG works rally car is going to enter the auction list offering, and this is 35 years after its last rendezvous with the world of motorsports.

1964 MGB Works Rally Car

The car in question is one of only two ever made of MGB rally cars built in 1964 and it’s had a debut at the Spa-Sofia-Liege rally in August that same year.

The following year, 1965 the car got more action as it ran the following competitions: the Tulip Rally, The Acropolis Rally, Geneva Rally, the Castrol Danube Rally and the RAC Rally.

After this the MGB Works car was kept garaged for several years and eventually wound up being meticulously restored to its former glory and returning on the road for its first public appearance at the Le Mans Classic back in 2008.

Since then the car hasn’t seen any events or races and now it is going to be auctioned and according to the organizers of the Historics at Brooklands auction on June 2 say that the British rally car is expected to fetch in offers in the region of £90,000 – £130,000.

To put this into perspective that’s about 100 times more than would you would have paid back in 64 for a brand new road going MGB.
