A Fusion of Old and New

The latest model still does not have a specific name until the official unveil, its main competitor to the Morgan Plus Six, an iconic car that was discontinued in 2020. Even though people have not formally been introduced to the model, it has been characterized by a unique look and technical ability.

The car is undoubtedly a Morgan and that classic body is familiar to anyone who has had an interest in the British car manufacturer for the past eighty-nine years. Nonetheless, this is not a traditional reference but a contemporary one that can be seen while admiring numerous nostalgic accents. Zwilling was described as having round and smooth headlights, small round mirrors on their sides, and round rear lights subtly referring to the car manufacturing history of Morgan.

They are elegant in design with a touch of the old mixture with modern things that make the game more attractive. Big rollers and twin exhaust tips further add to the spirited image and character of the car, while its colorful touch of three small wipers is playful and functional. These choices are in line with Morgan’s ability to look to the future, while at the same time not forgetting the past; the new three-wheeler is as revolutionary as it is classical.

The decision to equip the vehicle with a BMW engine must also include the output in accordance with modern requirements for emissions, which is important in the twenty-first century.

Famous for their wood body panels and overall retro styling, Morgan plans to celebrate 100 years of activity in the industry by releasing a limited edition Morgan Plus 8 Speedster.

The styling is exactly what you would expect from Morgan, while underneath the hood, a BMW sourced V8 engine is ready to tear into the tires. The 4.8 liter beast is able to develop 367 Hp and 490 Nm of torque which, when coupled with the ZF six speed automatic transmission, it speeds the machine to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The top speed on the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster limited edition is around 238 km/h, and if you think you might want to grab one for yourself, please take note that it will cost £69.995. Not to mention that being a limited edition, it will be built in low numbers (go figure).

Recently, Morgan announced a Brooklands Special Edition for two of their models: the Morgan Roadster and the 3 Wheeler.

For both the models, a nice Jaguar Brooklands green paint was chosen, with black accents for a full effect. Both the Roadster and the 3 Wheeler have had their interiors redone in black leather, with a four spoke steering wheel fitted to them and rubber floor mats installed.

To set them apart a bit, the Morgan Roadster has a body color dashboard and some extra leg room was squeezed out of a redesigned gear box cover. As for the Morgan 3 Wheeler, the car maker installed a Brooklands exhaust and polished engine and cowl.

This move from Morgan was the result of a desire to celebrate British racing cars, and a total of 50 units for each model are planned for production. While the 3 Wheeler was still not priced, we can tell you that the Morgan Roadster will fetch somewhere close to 40.000 GBP.

This is because they’ve announced quite some time ago a chance at a new model and it seems like they’ll actually be making the EvaGT.

The only real trouble is that Morgan still loves their old way so much they’re not going to hurry to get it out the door. They’ve even delayed it considerably.

An extra two years will go before the Morgan EvaGT gets near it shot at production and a stylishly discreet market launch.

Interestingly enough, the delay doesn’t come for the usual reasons you’d expect to see from a manufacturer this small and family operated.

The genuine reason the Morgan EVA GT is being kept away from rather weird enthusiasts of the British brand is to develop some pesky “modern stuff” it needs.

It seems like the Morgan EvaGT will no longer be made out of traditional “wood” but instead be made out of some serious stuff like magnesium alloy technology.

Apparently, company chief Charles Morgan is very proud of what the new 2+2 model will stand for and while the delay isn’t something easily digestible, it’s going to be worthwhile.

The project will see Morgan work together with Superfoam Aluminium pantel suppliers, Coventry University, Penso Consulting and Magnesium Elektron U.

Along with the big names in magnesium, alloys and new technologies, Morgan has managed to put together a considerable piggy bank of 1.8 million dollars for this project.

That’s a lot no matter which way you look at it so the family owned company will celebrate by rejuvenating what can only be described as an iconic model of their history.

Mind you, just about every model they run is iconic since they’ve been building them for so long it’s nearly unbelievable.

Since I’m guessing most of you weren’t around back when the last Morgan Three Wheeler went out of production 1952 the only sight of such a vehicle you may have caught could have taken place in Jay Leno’s Garage, after an encounter with members of the Morgan Three Wheeler Club or if you were a fan of Pete Larsen’s rather short resurrection as the Liberty Ace which took place in 2009.

Getting back to the actual car (or tricycle) you should know that when it eventually hits the production label it should have a motorcycle like V-twin engine with either 1 or 1.1 liters capable of developing 90 horsepower and pushing the car up to 100 mph.

As to be expected, the stats aren’t what you’d call impressive but if we’re to trust Morgan’s saying or their customer’s opinions we should consider it’s prime candidate namely the handling and the feel that the Morgan Three Wheeler could offer.
