The 2019 Toyota HiLux GR Sport was build in partnership with Gazoo Racing Motorsport, a division that deals with Toyota customizations. And has been done so for the past couple of years, with special packages applied on the Yaris GRMN or Yaris Sport. Now, the versatile package is also available for the company`s most appreciated ute.

What the GR package brings fresh is the new design language, updated performance and a more appealing interior. However, you can only observe the difference only by putting both the standard HiLux and the special edition side-by-side.

From a visual perspective, the 2019 Toyota HiLux GR Sport comes with a scheme of colours comprising white, black and red, which represent the GR`s main signature. That comes along with updated front grille with the Toyota logo, adding as well LED headlights and fog lights, two-tone bonnet and roof, or 17-inch alloy wheels. There is also the blacked-out sports rear bar.

The interior also gets distinctive features like GR logos on the leather-clad seats, GT start/stop button, GT build number plaque on the centre console, red stitching, instrument cluster with white illumination and a couple more.

In the engine department, the Toyota HiLux GR Sport uses a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel flat-pot, which is the standard one. However, for this special edition, the engine churns our no less than 130 kW and 450 Nm of torque, being sent to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Mechanically, the special edition has also been enhanced with new bits. We are dealing here with updated suspension system with stiffer front springs, monotube dampers and stiffer front springs, all improving the ute`s handling and riding capabilities.

One of them is the Mopar, well-known for its genuine tuning programs for a lot of American muscle cars. This time, the tuner has brought a custom-built Dodge to Las Vegas, with mega-power under the hood. It is actually a concept of the genuine 1968 Dodge Super Charger, now enhanced with plenty oo juice under the hood.

Unfortunately, this is one show muscle that will never see the light of day; it is just a concept set to demonstrate one more time that in the right hands, such an iconic car can become even more impressive, with lots of modifications under the hood.

The 1968 Dodge Super Charger Concept uses a ‘Hellephant’ 426 HEMI crate motor, which delivers a staggering 1,000 horsepower. What is more interesting is that this particular engine can also be used on other American muscle cars. So, in case you own such an exclusive build, always rely on Mopar to get it fixed with the 426 HEMI crate engine.

The crate engine refers to a massive 7.0-liter V8 pot, good for 1,288 Nm of torque as well. It also uses a 4.125-inch bore and 4.0-stroke, with all-aluminum block. To cope with such tremendous power and torque, this old boy is coming with brand-new parts at the exterior.

For instance, the wheel arches are made from fiber-grass and provide wide stance for the new wheels. Speaking of which, the 20- and 21-inch alloy wheels are borrowed from the Challenger SRT Hellcat. The muscle car`s wheelbase has also been extended from 117 inches to 119 inches, while the ride height is now sitting lower to make the concept more stable at high speeds or on tight corners. Mopar have also installed high-performance Brembo brakes.

The interior doesn’t look at all with the classic one, and has been garnished with new high-end materials, such as sating black trimming with the ‘Hellephant’ logos, along with a centre console with start/stop button, toggle switches for the wipers, fog lights and headlights. The seats are taken from the Dodge Viper and are wrapped in Alcantara leather.

But deep down, we all go to a motor show to be wowed by something fast, powerful and spectacular, and laudable though the likes of the all electric concept cars from the likes of Peugeot might be, they do not get our pulses racing. Fortunately, there was also plenty on display in the fantasy “what would I buy if I won a million dollars at an online casino or playing the lottery” department too. Here are five of the very best.

Bugatti Chiron

The Chiron has received a few tweaks for 2018, mostly focused around its suspension. It’s been given stiffer dampers and heavier steering, making it even more of a monster on track days. Bugatti has also shaved a little weight off its flagship model. The result? The world’s fastest and most expensive car in the world, just got even faster – and even more expensive.

Top speed is reported to be 288mph, and it will hit 60 inside 2.5 seconds. As for the cost – perhaps it’s better not to think about that, and just admire those beautiful sculpted lines, but if you must know, the price tag is $2.6 million. And there is a waiting list.

McLaren Senna

To name a car after probably the most iconic and revered name in Formula One is either incredibly brave or incredibly dangerous – perhaps both. But McLaren are right on the money with this million dollar, 800 hp hypercar. The carbon fiber bodywork generates phenomenal downforce, meaning this car sticks to the road and corners at ridiculous speeds.

The limited production run has already sold out, but if you have a little extra to spend, the Senna GTR is a track special that is even faster, bolder and brasher.

Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro

The Aston Martin Valkyrie’s provenance is there for all to see. Developed in partnership with Adrian Newey and the Formula One boys at Red Bull Racing, it looks like something more appropriate for the track than the road. The AMR Pro on display at Geneva was exactly that, a track-based special, designed without the constraints of the public highway to consider.

The statistics speak for themselves. 1,100 hp, and an ability to generate lateral acceleration of 3G, mean you need the physique, as well as the bank balance, of Lewis Hamilton to drive one. Just 25 have been commissioned, and all have already got owners waiting.

Zenvo TSR-S

In the modern age, it is great that there is still a place for bespoke luxury carmakers. Zenvo is a fully independent outfit based in Denmark, and their TSR is the third model to roll off the production line. Motor shows are all about showcasing innovation, and that’s one thing this car has in spades.

The V8 engine is of the company’s own design and manufacture, while the centripetal rear wing has to be seen to be believed. It rotates to help the car corner more effectively and can even act as an air brake to slow the car down more effectively. Behind the wheel, it feels more like a Formula One car than anything else, with a seven gear, paddle shift gearbox as standard, that comes with what the manufacturer describes as a: “brutal mechanical direct power-shift race set-up that delivers a genuine race car experience on the track.”

Talking to Autocar magazine, Chief Executive Jean-Philippe Imparato has confirmed the arrival of an electric concept that would lead the way for future electric models.

The concept itself is presented as an “outstanding and radical” type, with an extremely evolutionary design and futuristic interior.

As aforementioned, the electric concept will be the benchmark of Peugeot`s future models, which will be offered in petrol, diesel and electric variants. About that, Imperato has also explained:

“One hundred per cent of new launches will have electrified versions from 2019. You will buy your Peugeot and choose the engine for your need. It will not be the same in every country and city, and we must cope with that.”

“So we put in place a modular platform, and you will choose diesel if you want to, petrol if it’s for you. Each launch will have three powertrains: diesel, petrol and electrified.”

So far, Peugeot has released an impressive concept at the Geneva Motor Show last year, called the Instinct Concept. It came out with a fabulous design highlighted by sucide-style rear doors, bright blue paintjobe, sculptural fenders, futuristic headlights and LED taillights.

More than that, to show that its electric offensive has already started, Peugeot released the first electric minivan last year, at the same Geneva Motor Show. It is a family minivan equipped with a 67 HP electric motor and a 22.5 kWh ion-lithium battery pack. So up until now, things are looking pretty good for Peugeot, which is sloyly but surely making its way onto the electric market with promising plans. Stay tuned!

Compared with its standard sibling, the new 2018 Bugatti Chiron Sport is more lightweight thanks to the massive use of carbon fiber. This means “significantly improved handling and even greater agility”, as company representatives describe the new supercar.

Besides the heavy carbon fiber use on the supercar`s chassis, the new Chiron Sport also features lightweight alloy wheels, updated suspension system with 10 percent stiffer shock absorbers, modified steering and a couple more.

Overall, the all-new Bugatti Chiron Sport is 18 kg lighter than the standard model, with noticeable changes in the Handling Mode as well. It also adds optimized rear-axle differential and Dynamic Torque Vectoring, all contributing to faster accelerations.

Speaking of fast acceleration, the 2018 Chiron Sport is actually “five seconds faster than the base Chiron model”, achieved on the Nardo test track.

However, Bugatti claims that the Sport variant can perform even better on the tracks, meaning that “it can reach its full handling potential even at cornering speeds in excess of 200 km/h.”

Visually, the 2018 Bugatti Chiron Sport still shines in Geneva with the exotic Italian Red body wrap; however, future customers can also opt for other body colour choices – French Racing Blue, Gun Powder or Gris Rafale.

Inside, the cabin complements the exterior with the “Chiron Sport” badge on the center console or the “Sport” logo on the door sill strips and anodized black finish for the engine start button. There is also the black theme with red contrast stitching.

With “all the options available”, the new Bugatti Chiron Sport will cost €2.65 million in Europe and $3.266 million in the United States.

Speaking of which, Cupra has arrived with an astonishing built in the shape of the e-Racer, a high-performance model with an impressive sprint from standstill to 100 km/h.

The Cupra e-Racer is not only incredibly fast but it is also a good looker, showing off with a radical design. Xavier Sera, technical director of the Cupra e-Racer has recently explained that the goal of such design “was to improve aerodynamics”.

On the other hand, the raw sound of the racer was also described as being “similar to a mosquito”, and even if Sera didn’t quite succeed in achieving that, the engine soundtrack is pretty much amazing.

Just like other high-end racers, the interior of the Cupra e-Racer has been enhanced with carbon fiber components, which shed-off significant weight. It does make it faster. We are dealing here with a custom-built steering wheel, carbon roll cage and three separate displays.

Besides the lightweight characteristics inside, the car`s chassis, which is a Seat Leon in fact, has been also customized to such extend that it is now “suitable for competing” and tackling other high-performance racers.

As Xavier also declared, “one of this vehicle`s most surprising aspects has to be its power”, as “the Cupra e-Racer can reach 12,000 revolutions, compared to the 6,500 of a petrol powered racer car, and all with a single gear.”

Let`s elaborate – the Cupra e-Racer packs no less than four electric motors which churn out a total of 670 horsepower, meaning that it can “fly” from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, at a top speed of 270 km/h. This means that the e-Racer is as fast as the Huracan LP610-4 from Lamborghini.

ABT Sportsline from Germany is an Audi-dedicated tuner that will present an astonishing model in Geneva. This is based on the RS5 Coupe and it is called ABT RS5-R.

It is going to be limited to just 50 units worldwide, which definitely makes it extremely rare and extremely expensive. How much it will cost? According to some close sources, one such example would cost around 300,000 euros…at least.

As we can depict from the media gallery below, the Audi RS5-R by ABT looks smashing and standout with the new styling elements at the exterior and a couple of touches inside. Speaking of interior, for the moment we don’t have any photos, but the tuner will surely get back with fresh info.

This crazy built stands out from the crowd with a green shade around the body style, along with bespoke and massive front grille and apron, wheel arch vents, side skirt add-ons, decklid spoiler or rear diffuser with incorporated quad exhaust pipes.

There are also new mechanical tweaks involved like new KW coilover suspension system with sport stabilizers and height adjustable springs. The tuner has also ditched the stock 19-inch alloy wheels and opted for much bigger 21-inch rims, wrapped in 275/25 tires on all axles. Overall, the Audi RS5-R by ABT looks wider, lower and more aggressive.

Inside, the cabin is believed to sport leather sports seats with the RS5-R logo, along with ABT gear shift cover from carbon fiber, and much more.

There is also good news for those wanting more power. The technicians from ABT Sportsline have also infused a couple of new horses. Thanks to their new power kit, this Audi enjoys a full 523 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque, which is 79 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque over the stock model. That makes it also faster – 0.3 seconds faster, meaning just 3.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

American customers have been waiting for the revival of the Ranger for quite some time, and now they have the chance to find out what the new model brings fresh.

The mid-size pickup truck is placed beneath the F-150, coming with a fresh design language, plenty of new high-tech gizmos and improved transmission for the new engine.

The new 2019 Ford Ranger pickup is now built atop a new high-strength steel platform with frame-mounted steel front and rear bumper bars. All these make it solid as a German Panzer tank.

At the exterior, the 2019 Ranger is now looking more appealing and attractive thanks to the new front grille with twin-tiers through the middle, updated headlights and daytime LEDs.

The new features inside refer to an 8.0-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system, dual LCD displays for the driver and which keep track on the vehicle`s navigations, mechanics and audio information. The interior also comes with new seats and high-quality materials, new colours and new trims.

In the engine department, the 2019 Ford Ranger pickup truck brags with a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost flat-four petrol engine, hooked to a high-performance ten-speed automatic transmission. This is basically the same pot also found on the new Ford Focus RS or Ford Mustang. The power output and the torque are not yet known, but we expect it to be the most powerful petrol truck ever built by Ford.

The model will become available on the US market this spring, while Australia and other markets will have it in the second quarter of the year, most likely in summer.

Already set for the market towards the end of the year, the 2018 Kia Niro PHEV comes with several driving modes to choose from, such as the Hybrid as default, Eco, EV and Sport mode for those looking for adrenaline rush. Other features also include Driver-Only Air Conditioning, Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

Performance wise, the 2018 Kia Niro PHEV comes with a 1.6-liter GDI petrol burner sustained by an electric motor, developing an overall of 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The drivetrain comes with excellent fuel consumption – 48 mpg/44 mpg/46 mpg (city/highway/combined). On the other hand, the driving range is established at around 560 miles, while the all-electric range stands at 26 miles. And this is quite impressive and sets it apart from other offerings on the market like the newly-introduced 2018 BMW i8 Roadster, which comes with an electric range of just 18 miles.
