As we could observe above, Honda is the only carmaker to be present with two models, the Honda CR-V winning the compact SUV segment and the Honda Ridgeline, taking the lead in the Mid-Size Pickup category.

In case you were wondering the absence of other high-end models, such as the new BMW X5 or X6, Bentley Bentayga or Porsche Cayenne, all in the SUV segment, you should know that only models with prices lower than $80,000 could actually qualify for the award.

Over the past few years, starting with 2008, the list has grown from the 5Best Trucks and SUVs to the 10Best Trucks and SUVs, and that because of the fast development of models in the two segments. Also, the number of trucks and SUVs to be sold worldwide, has also increased to almost 60 percent this year, as opposed to 57 percent last year.

One carmaker that will be present at the show is the North American based Chrysler, part of the Group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which will present its all-new Pacifica electric variant.

It is well-known that the Pacifica is already equipped with a plug-in hybrid version, but in order to reduce the CO2 emissions to zero and enhance the mile range, the company has decided to ditch the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar combustion engine and leave the electric motor alone. This way, in full-electric, we should expect an impressive range, way too impressive than the present 33 miles.

There are not a lot of information to be displayed about the all-new Chrysler Pacifica all-electric, except for the fact that, according the Bloomberg, the prototype is rumored to spawn a future production model, which is good news for those wanting to drive clean with no CO2 emissions.

As a reminder, the newly-announced Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid comes with a total of 566 miles, returning as well 84 mpg. The model will be released on the United States starting next year and will have a starting price of $34,495.

More details will be known starting the 3rd of January, meanwhile, take a closer look at the all-new Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which will influence the making of the all-electric car, visually at least.

The two Mercedes-AMGs seen here were a little bit “modified” by Ramon Performance tuner, and involve a CLS 63 AMG with 750 horsepower, as well as t Morendi-Weistec C63 AMG (W204 version) with a similar 770 horsepower.

On the other hand, the Chrysler 300C comes fully packed with a massive turbocharged engine, developing a whopping 900 horsepower, which “should” be enough to take down both Mercs.

With the SUV segment also in development, Fiat-Crysler wants a piece of the pie by also bringing its SUV lineup. After bringing the Cherokee in Chine last November, the FCA has also started production of the Renegade smaller SUV, the model being built in partnership with Guangzhou Automotive Group.

The Jeep Renegade is currently being assembled at the group`s new factory in Guangzhou, with 160,000 units to be built each year.

FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne has also stated in an interview: “Today is an important step in our strategy to expand the Jeep brand’s global presence and, equally important, it represents a further strengthening of the joint enterprise with our respected and valuable partner here in China, the GAC Group.”

Besides the manufacturing of the Jeep Cherokee and smaller Renegade, Fiat-Crysler is also planning to add a new mid-sized SUV to its lineup in China towards the end of the year, which means that the company is planning to double its sales from 2015`s 89,000 units to more than 150,000 starting next year.

Once it will be launched on the market this spring, the all-new 200S will be available at $26,685 while the 300S will set you back at $35,965, adding the $995 destination fee.

The 200S and 300S Alloy Editions are standing out from the crowd with an updated grille with Dark Bronze and Titanium exterior accents, along with black accents, as well as a fine-tuned sport suspension.

The 2017 Chrysler 200S Alloy will be highlighted by the Dark Bronze exterior color on the Mobius strip upper and lower grille surrounds, along with the 19-inch Dark Bronze aluminum wheels. Inside, this version features the Black leather on the seats, wrapped in Caramel accent stitching, center arm rest and door trim panels, along with Piano Black and Titanium accents. The cabin of the 300S features the Black Nappa leather with Caramel stitching, along with piano black accents. The instrument panel clock “exudes watch-like precision and craftsmanship”.

Performance wise, the 200S comes with a base entry-level 3.6-liter V6 with 300 horsepower, while the 300S fits a higher 5.7-liter HEMI V8 mill, with 363 horsepower. Both are coming with a rear-wheel drive standard gearbox or an optional all-drive layout.

The 2015 Chrysler 300 SRT costs $69, 000, without the transportation fee, while the top of the line 300 SRT Core sits under it, at $59,000, but coming with a $10,000 Luxury Car Tax.

The 2015 Chrysler SRT will come with a lot of standard features, such as leather trim, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, forward collision, the high-performance Harman/Kardon sound system, or the 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

On the other hand, the 2015 Chrysler SRT Core will add up some new body elements along with the 20-inch dark wheels, blacked-out Brembo calipers, mechanical limited-slip differential, dual-zone climate control, and a few more.

Under the hood, both versions will pack an updated 6.4-liter HEMI V8 which now develops 470 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque, as opposed to the 2014 model, with 465 horsepower and 631 Nm of torque. The good news is that both will be hooked to an eight-speed sports automatic transmission. The bad news is that the transmission would not improve the car`s fuel consumption, the figure standing at a huge 13L/100 km.

The base 2015 Chrysler 300C will come with a lot of interesting features offered as standard, such as the LED fog lights and taillights, automatic headlights, daytime running lights, as well as the 18-inch alloys.

Inside, the entry-level will also offer high-end materials like Nappa leather, wood and leather on the steering wheels, along with other fine tweaks, such as the rotary shifter, heated front cup holders, dual-zone climate control, the 7.0-inch color instrument cluster, ParkSense, ParkView and a few more.

In case you don’t want to settle with the base 300C model, you can also have the 300C Luxury, which will offer more features in terms of safety, like blind spot monitoring, full speed forward collision warning, lane departure warning, rear cross path detection or adaptive cruise control.

Under the hood, both versions will get the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar unit, developing 210 kW (281 horsepower) and 340 Nm of torque, hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of styling, I might find this particular model rather odd, but one can depict some features that could make it more appealing. Features include the gloss black window surrounds, the SRT lower black stripe, black and chrome accents around the body, as well as the 20-inch satin black aluminum wheels.

Inside, the 2015 Chrysler 300 SRT Core Satin Vapour will also come with a whole lot of goodies, like the 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen, satellite navigation, dual pane panoramic roof, or high-end materials, leather upholstery and a few more.

It was only a month ago when the 2014 Ram Promaster was put off, when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration “issued a recall” for malfunctioning to accelerator pedal.

With the now second recall for brake hoses, the Chrysler auto manufacturer is recalling back to factory around 6,800 vans.

The automaker has issued some directives, instructing its dealers all over the US to perform inspections to their vehicles concerning proper installation of brake hose.

In case there are any malfunctioning to the brake hoses, these must be replaced immediately, not to cause any traffic accidents, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mentions.

The problem was first reported back to a wrench used in the assembly of the vehicle.

The company also announced that the percentage of the affected vehicles only revolves around two, since there were no any reports being issued concerning any accidents due to brake hoses.

Varvatos has become the Chrysler`s designer ever since he created the special editions 300C John Varvatos. Now, the hot-looking limited editions come back with two versions – Luxury and Limited – with the later model receiving an all-wheel-drive option.

There are some differences between the two models.

The Luxury version comes with Platinum exterior accents, being offered in a wide variety of colors. The Limited version however, is offered with dark Titanium accents and one single Phantom Black Tri-Coat paint.

But apart from that, both luxurious cars feature a fashionable design inside, with special patterns, colors and leather that bare the marks of the designer`s craftsmanship, name and logo.

The 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition is the only version that is powered by a V6-engine, and the good news for the fans is that the car is already on sale, as for the JV Limited Edition, the car will be offered starting this March.

The Luxury model will have a starting price of $41,195 and the Limited one be starting at $44,480, without the $995 destination fee.
