We thus expect a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel with 177 kW and 500 Nm of torque, as well as some V6s and V8s supercharged engines.

Visually, the model borrows the company`s new design language also seen on other high-end models, such as the Range Rover Sport or the Evoque, meaning an evolutionary design, highlighted by a lower profile on the glasshouse area, adding slightly raked D-pillar at the rear, which provides the SUV with a more aggressive look.

Taking visual highlights from the Rover Sport and Evoque, the new Velar will also stand on the same platform, meaning increased space and cargo capacity inside the cabin. As usual, the same plethora of high-tech gizmos will be found.

The video below put together by the British carmaker is actually the second one, after seeing the same SVR perform rather similar tests around three years ago. This ensures that the model is the leader on such difficult conditions.

As the carmaker recently states, the Range Rover Sport SVR proves to be one of the most powerful SUVs in the segment, “merging legendary all-terrain capability with 550 horsepower V8 power and advanced traction technology.”

This means, that on sand and grass, the Range Rover Sport SVR achieves a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mind-blowing 5.3 seconds, while on asphalt, the same SUV can go as fast as 4.7 seconds. To achieve such amazing performance figures, it used Michelin 275/56 R21 All Season tires.

The British manufacturer also took the Range Rover SVR Sport SUV on snow, where it also managed an amazing time from the same 0 to 100 km/h sprint. The model took just 11.3 seconds to run the whole straight line in Arjeplog, Northern Sweden, with Darren Jones, in charge of the Stability Applications department at Land Rover. He also bragged the car`s impressive performance and acceleration, stating:

“The Range Rover Sport SVR is famed for its on-road performance but this hasn’t been achieved at the expense of customary Land Rover capability. Our Terrain Response 2 technology takes the stress out of driving in all conditions.”

We are looking here at the facelfited version of the present Range Rover Evoque, the model bringing new engines, while the visuals remain practically unchanged. The interior has also gained some new tweaks.

Speaking about interior changes and extra features, the 2017 Land Rover Evoque can now be had with an upgraded 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, Head-Up display, gesture tailgate opening, surround camera, as well as the 825-Watt Meridian surround sound system. All these features are mainly available on the HSE and HSE Dynamic versions.

In the engine department, the 2017 Evoque comes fully-packed with a 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel, which replaces the 2.2-liter Sd4, also seen on other Ford models. This one is hooked to a high-performance nine-speed automatic transmission. On the petrol side, the model can also be had with the new 2.0-liter flat-four turbo engine, with 241 horsepower and the same nine-speed automatic transmission.

On the Indian market, the 2017 Land Rover Evoque will stand side-by-side the already launched Range Rover Evoque Ember Edition, which is a special edition coming at INR 67.90. This particular model adds lots of exterior bits, like black wrapping, gloss red roof, custom front and rear bumpers, as well as black alloy rims to complement the whole thing. The interior is also tweaked with styling elements that complement the exterior, like black trim with red contrast stitching, red ambient lighting and so on.
