The general frame of reference can be seen in that Stellantis, the parent company of Maserati, has scaled back what was initially earmarked as a 1.5 billion euros investment in the company. This decision is because of reduced sales growth in China, which is the automaker’s second market after the US. Many factors have influenced the economic situation in China and its effect on the luxury car segment, which had negative implications for the financial status of the Stellantis group and its subsidiaries.

The implications of this shift are therefore enormous. The car manufacturer Maserati posted a complete loss last year and its sales even fell by more than half to 11,300 units. This occurred despite registering a profit of 141 million euros in the year 2023 just to make this brand further understand the ups and downs, and to somehow capture the volatile position it has. The cancellation of the MC20 Folgore is a rebalancing brought by Maserati given such challenges.

In the contribution to be developed by the Trident brand, they do not plan to launch a new electric car version named Folgore but redesign the current MC20 model, which could take cues from the MC20 GT2 Stradale. It increases the power of the supercar up to 631 horsepower, decreases its weight by 60 kg, as well as optimizes the car chassis for the racetrack performance. Considering these concerns, the decisions and actions of the company will receive analysis from various audiences of the organization to observe how Maserati will be transforming its brand and future-proofing its heritage to operate in the new automobile market.

The interesting fact regarding this particular partnership between Maserati and a Swedish toy manufacturer, named Playsam, is that the manufactured toys are actually stylized wooden versions of Maserati vehicle models. Could there be a connection between the fact that wooden toys and Maserati’s vehicles are seen as exclusivist items? This would make for an interesting message sent by Maserati to all those that actually purchase these wooden toys. We’ll have to see how many people will decide to buy wooden Maserati toys for their little ones or even for themselves.

The toys are stylized versions of Maserati vehicle models. The quality of the material turns these toys into something truly unique. No matter how you look at these wooden products, you get a funny feeling that you’re actually looking at works of art. You can tell that a lot of work went into the design of these toys. You can also tell that a lot of work will be put into manufacturing them. The examples shown at the Geneva Motor Show speak for themselves. Playsam Design of Sweden seems like the right partner for Maserati in this case. Their quality toy products fit well with Maserati’s polished vehicle models.

Maserati has made the right choice when it decided to promote its brand through wooden toys created by Playsam Design of Sweden. We’ll have to see if this partnership will also bring more customers. This will most likely happen, as these products are not exclusively aimed at children. Regarding the price of these toys, information is not yet clear. These toys will, without a doubt, retail for a pretty high price, if we take into consideration the quality of the finished products. At this point, the only thing we can do is wait to see in what stores these toys will be sold and how soon they will hit the shelves.

Once arriving on the market, the all-new 2017 Maserati Ghibli will be available in two packages, the Luxury and Sport, each one coming with its own features and styling parts.

To start with the Luxury, this particular trim features premium leather, Zegna edition silk and leather, Harmon Kardon ten-speaker sound system with 900 watts, and so on.

On the other hand, the Sport trim adds more features, like sports seats, sports steering wheel with aluminum paddles, carbon fiber trimmings, 8.4-inch touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rotary volume knob and much more.

In the engine department, the all-new 2017 Maserati Ghibli is equipped with an upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with 257 kW and 500 Nm of torque, in the entry-level Ghibli, while the Ghibli S version adds more power, like 301 kW and 550 Nm of torque.

As for the performance figures, the standard Ghibli sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, while the Ghibli S runs just 5.0 seconds. Concerning fuel consumption, the standard Ghibli burns out 8.9 liter per 100 km, while the S comes with a 9.6 liter consumption.

On the other hand, the Ghibli Diesel, this particular version comes with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 engine, with 202 kW and 600 Nm of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The fuel consumption stands at 5.9 l per each 100 km.

The future production model will be based on the concept revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and will be first previewed by a variant in 2019, featuring a twin-turbo V6 engine instead of a previously reported V8.

The two-seat model will be complied with the strict EU regulations concerning low emissions and fuel-economy, meaning that it will use a new platform which will accommodate conventional combustion engines and electric motors.

We are looking here at a new modular chassis for storing powerful batteries and electric powertrains. This means that we should expect a twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a powerful electric setup, allowing a range of 95g/km.

But before that happens, the carmaker is also reportedly planning to replace the present GranTurismo and GranCabrio by 2019, meaning rather the same platform shared with the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante. That means that the models will come with the same 2+2 seat configuration, with technology that will reduce the CO2 emissions and come with better fuel-efficiency.

Once successfully introduced on the new Alfieri, the electric technology will also comprise the carmaker`s lineup, gradually creating a competitor for the likes of Jaguar, Audi or Porsche.

Amongst its top notch supercars, the Italian based carmaker Ferrari has built one of the most powerful models in the world, which is no other than the Ferrari LaFerrari.

The star of the show is rumored to also spawn a future Maserati supercar, and even if the carmaker has not confirmed such news, render artists worldwide have already started creating their own interpretation of such a model.

It involves a Maserati MC-63 Concept, seen below in some renderings signed by Italian rendering artist Andrea Ortile, which showcases a highly-developed Maserati model with influences in design from the Ferrari LaFerrari, and with originals borrowed from the Tipo 63.

The concept`s entire design has been influenced by the Maserati Tipo 63, first launched in 1961, and being one of the most powerful track models that the Italian carmaker has ever built. The MC-63 wears the new metallic blue body wrap, which pays tribute to the car`s original white and blue wrapping.

As we can depict from the renderings below, the so called Maserati MC-63 Concept comes with a massive front grille with the rear featuring a prominent diffuser as well. A standout set of wheels with center locking are also giving the concept an extremely aggressive and futuristic look.

It remains unknown if Maserati would ever built a FerrariLaFerrari-based hypecar, but you will never know what the future reserves us.

The 2017 Maserati Levante is getting ready for the US dealerships this summer but eagers wanting it sooner can pre-order it starting April.

The 2017 Maserati Levante comes with an extremely aggressive design, while the cabin is as exclusive as it can be, featuring leather upholstery, 8.4-inch infotainment system and much more.

In terms of performance, the standard 2017 Maserati Levante comes with a 3.0-liter bi-turbo engine, with 345 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, enough for a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

The topping stands at 156 mph. On the other hand, the 2017 Maserati Levante S packs the same engine but outputs more, 424 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque. The same sprint is done in 5.0 seconds, at a topping of 164 mph. Both versions are hooked to an eight-speed transmission which sends the power to all four corners. As expected, a plug-in hybrid version will also join the club later on.

In terms of pricing, the 2017 Maserati Levante is set at $72,000, which makes it $13,700 more expensive than its competitor, the entry-level Porsche Cayenne.

The entry-level Maserati Levante comes with a lot of high-end features as standard, such as rear privacy glass, panoramic roof, rain-sensing wipers, along with other gizmos inside, like dual-zone climate control, an 8.4-inch display for the infotainment system, leather upholstery and a few more.

If we take into account the SUV segment, this is where most important supercar makers in the world have afforded to turn the odds in their favor. Who would have ever imagined that Bentley would produce the most powerful SUV in the world with the Bentayga, dethroning Porsche, BMW, Audi or Mercedes-Benz!

And things are far from being over, as Maserati is pacing up with its future Levante SUV, which will be officially unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Prior the event, the Italian mobster has released a teaser image which vaguely highlights the car`s design language.

The teaser image resembles the sketches released back in June, confirming the SUV`s aggressive front end with prominent hexagonal grille which give away the LED daytime running lights.

Under the hood, the Maserati Levante SUV is rumored to pack an wide array of V6 and V8 engines, borrowed from the Quattroporte, the model also coming with an all-wheel drive layout hooked to a ZF eight-speed automatic.

The complete details list with the upcoming Maserati Levante SUV will be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, starting 1st of March.

If the last spy shots revealed a couple of months ago showcased the test mule almost fully camouflaged, today, a new set of photos highlights the model in its full body, with just a slight camo at the rear end, which means that the work is almost complete.

The 2017 Maserati Quattroporte will come with some changes at the body, even if the overall design will remain the same. We might presume slight changes at the rear bumper and trunk area.

In the engine department, the 2017 Maserati Quattroporte is likely to retain the same engine lineup from the previous generation, but we might also expect new ones, while the cabin is also set to carry over the same styling and tweaks.

In the present version, the 2016 Maserati Quattroporte comes with three models, all of them tweaking twin-turbocharged configurations: the entry-level S, with a 3.0-liter V6 engine, with 404 horsepower and a rear-wheel drive system, followed by the S Q4, with the same engine but an all-wheel drive.

Finally, the top of the line GTS packs a 3.8-liter V8 engine, with 523 horsepower and rear-wheel drive. All engines are hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

But it seems that until its arrival, there are a lot of rendering artists who are trying to play a little bit with the car`s design, reshaping its body style into a more exotic one.

The latest rendering comes from Rain Prisk Designs, which has portrayed the Maserati Alfieri with a Shooting Brake body style.

The rendering artist has left the front of the car untouched, but has turned the rear end into a semi-wagon styling, or the shooting brake, as it is known.

The rendering might predict a future wagon model, and chances are that it might come with the same rear end like this one portrayed here.

The Maserati Alfieri is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V8 engine, also found on the GranTurismo, producing a good 460 horsepower. When it will arrive on the market next year, the model will also receive new turbocharged V6 engines, the same found on the Ghibli model.
